Fairy Silhouette Cards | Scrappy Tails Crafts

Hello crafty friends. Today I get to show you some of the new products from the latest release from Scrappy Tails Crafts. The latest release is inspired by Shakespeare’s, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and it is a gorgeous release! I created a couple of silhouette cards using the Fairy Silhouette Dies, and the A2 Cloud Cover Plate Die.

When I think of silhouettes, I think black cardstock or ink, but I wanted my silhouettes to be colorful and bright. So, for my first card I die cut the two fairies sitting together with some white cardstock, and I colored them in using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Ink. I also used some Distress Oxide inks to create my colorful backgrounds.

For card two I used gold embossing powder to heat emboss the fairy and some of the butterflies. To create the cloud frame, I used the A2 Cloud Cover Plate and cut it down. I wanted it to be a little bit smaller to sit my fairies on it and frame the sentiments.

Damask Daydream Card Set | Spellbinder Card Kit of the Month | July 2021

Happy Friday! It’s time for another card kit. The one I’m creating with today is Spellbinders’ July Card Kit of the Month called Damask Daydream. The soft colors of the pattern paper, ephemera and stickers in this kit are dreamy and lovely; However, my favorite crafty item from this kit is the die set. You get a gorgeous die that cut out a square frame with attached flowers. It also includes some flower and leaf dies as well as some dies that coordinate with the stamp set.

I created six cards with this beautiful kit. I love how they turned out, and they were fun and effortless to put together because everything is so well coordinated!

Sending Floral Wishes Mini Slimline Card | Spellbinders Clear Stamp Club | July 2021

I have another mini slimline card to show you all today! This A2 size is all I used to create, but I am having so much fun creating different sized cards–especially the mini slimline. The stamp set I used for this card is from Spellbinders; it’s their Clear Stamp of the Month for July! I love a great floral stamp, and this one is stunning! It’s called, “Sending Floral Wishes.”

The sentiments are fabulous, and it includes a stamp that you can stamp on the flap of your mini slimline envelopes to write out your return address.

To create my card I used the largest floral stamp and stamped it with white pigment ink onto a piece of Blue Spruce cardstock. I wanted to emboss it with white embossing powder, but I needed to color it in first with colored pencils–hence the white pigment ink first. The colored pencils would scrape off the embossed lines if I embossed it first.

After I colored it in, I positioned my panel back into my Mini Misti and stamped it again with clear embossing ink. I stamped it up a few times, and then poured over some white embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.

I cut down my panel with a die from Spellbinders’ July Large Die of the Month set. I also cut out a piece of Wild Berry cardstock with a die from this set. The white and silver baker’s twine was a fun finishing touch because the scallops on the die cut panel held it in place so nicely.

Clear Stamp of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Spellbinders

Decorative Mini Slimline Card Creator | Spellbinders July Small Die of the Month | 2021

Hello crafty friends! I am loving the mini slimline card size lately, and Spellbinders is fueling that love this month with their mini slimline die clubs. The small die for July cuts out an ornate panel to put on your cards. There are 5 cutting dies that you can mix and match.

Here is a picture of them all laid out on my craft mat. The sentiment die included in this set says, “For You.”

I used the 3 slimline dies to cut out a beautiful panel with some brushed gold cardstock. I also used the Clear Stamp of the Month called, “Sending Floral Wishes.” It includes sentiments that fit perfectly inside the window die. I used the large floral stamp from this set and the sentiment that says, “wishing you an amazing day.”

I heat embossed these stamps using Antique Gold embossing powder, and then I colored in my flowers using Zig Brushes. Here are the colors I used:

Zig Brushes: Largest Flower – Light Carmine & Pink,

Small flowers – Tea Rose,

Leaves – Light Green & Green,

Centers – Yellow

I used Bristol Smooth cardstock for this. The Zig brushes blend beautifully on this paper!

Magical Fairy Light-Up Card | Scrappy Tails & Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop

Welcome to the Scrappy Tails and Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! Today, we’re sharing lots of whimsical cards that will really brighten your day. They feature dreamy new stamps and dies from Scrappy Tails, and with a little help from Pear Blossom Press, they all light up!  Be sure to hop along with us for lots of inspiration; our designers have come up with some stunning cards…

For the card I’m creating today, I’m using a beautiful new stamp called Fairy Girl. She has the most beautifully detailed wings and hair–I had so much fun coloring her in! To do this I stamped her out onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored her in with Zig brushes. To create the night sky around her, I used the A2 Cloud Frame Cover Plate. This set also includes lots of dies to decorate your sky. I used the moon and two of the stars.

Then to add even more magic, I used an EZ Light to light up the moon and stars in front of her. This really takes the card to the next level, and I love it! They are so fun and easy to use. I added more stars in the sky with a white gel pen.

Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator | Spellbinders July Large Die of the Month 2021

Spellbinders took it over the top this month with their Large Die of the Month Club. They’ve created an “essentials” set of mini slimline dies, and they are fabulous! You get 16 dies which includes a mini slimline envelope creator. It even includes a happy birthday die, so I created a birthday card using this set. Lastly, it includes some floral dies to decorate your cards!

The nested dies all have really cute etched details on them. Some have dot edges and some have the scallops. There is so much you could do with this set! It also coordinates beautifully with the Clear Stamp of the Month.

I used all the dies from this set and cut them out with the gorgeous new cardstock from Spellbinders. I layered them, and it created some fun dimension. I used the same cardstock for the flowers and added some pops of green with the leaves.

Using the envelope dies you can create two types of envelopes–a portrait and a landscape. You can also create two sized of these envelopes depending on what score line you fold down. The clear stamp of the month includes a pretty stamp that you can use on the flap of your portrait envelope to write out your return address.

This card was really fast and fun to put together. You could make up a bunch of them for your stash.
