March 2020 – Jackie's Craft Table

Happy Friday! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day! I have a fun new set of paints to show you today. Arteza released a new set of metallic watercolors! These paints show up beautifully on all types of paper, but my favorite thing to do with them is paint on black paper–it’s like magic!

They also sent me a set of their watercolor books. Inside is 110 lb cold press paper bound with natural linen–they are beautiful!

For my card project I used a piece of Stonehenge Black Watercolor Paper; however, black card stock will work too. I heat embossed my image using some gold embossing powder, and then I painted in my images–this was the fun part! These paints look gorgeous on black paper. After the paint was dry, I flicked on some of the gold paint with the water brush that came with the paints. Use the code JackiesCraftTable5 to get 10% off your purchase at Arteza. The stamp set is from Pink & Main, and it’s from their card kit called Fantastic Florals. The pattern paper I used at the bottom of the card is also from the card kit, However, you can buy this pad separate at the shop.

I wanted to try out the watercolor book too, so I painted some very simple Easter Egg doodles that I plan on decorating with my Metallic Gelly Roll pens. The paints look beautiful on the white watercolor paper too! My inspiration for this exercise comes from a video by Creations Cee Cee.

Slimline Card using Tea Time Buddies & Trinity Stamp Dies | Not 2 Shabby Design Team Project

Hello crafty friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I’m having a lot of fun creating slimline cards lately. When I first saw the latest craze for cards that fit inside a legal-sized envelope, I wasn’t that interested in trying it. It looked to me like such an odd size for a greeting card, but I gave it a try anyway. Now I can’t stop making them. The thing I like best about them is you get a lot more real-estate! You can fit a lot more images onto your slimline cards!

The stamp set I’m using is from the latest Not 2 Shabby Shop release. It’s called Tea Time Buddies. It’s very reminiscent of the tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland! I simply adore this stamp set. I have a 10% off coupon code for you at the shop: N2S10

Card Set using Summer Time Buddies & Arteza Alcohol Markers | Not 2 Shabby Design Team Project

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m jumping right into some summertime card crafting. The stamp set I’m using is from the Not 2 Shabby Shop’s latest release. It’s called Summer Time Buddies. This set is filled with adorable images that will make you smile and long for hotter weather.

I designed a set of four cards. The layout of all four is the same, but the scenes are all designed around the darling stamps from this set.

Card #1: Cat On the Beach

On my first card I stamped out the cute little cat and masked it so I could stamp the stand castle behind it. I used some Arteza alcohol markers to color in the images and create a fun beach scene around them.

The Arteza markers are fabulous because with the bullet nib you can easily get into smaller spaces without going outside the lines. I also love all the colors of these markers.

Card #2: Popsicle Pattern Background Card

I used VersaFine Onyx black ink to stamp out my pattern with this cute Popsicle stamp. A I then stamped the sparkle stamp in the empty spaces. The sentiment “Stay Cool” is the perfect sentiment for this card.

Card #3: Fruity Drink on the Beach Card

For this card I stamped the sun on my circle die cut instead of adhering it on separately. I love the happy face stamp included in this set, and I stamped it on the sun and gave him some orange cheeks.

Card #4: Swimming Pup

I used Arteza alcohol markers to color in this pup, but I couldn’t use the same Arctic Blue Arteza marker to color the water or sky around him. My marker ran out of ink. I guess I use this one a lot. I used some Distress Oxide inks and a stencil to create the little scene in this circle. I used Peacock Feathers for the ocean and Tumbled Glass for the sky, and I blended them on with a make-up brush. I then added bubbles around the pup with another of the small stamps from this set. I love how this card turned out!

Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit 2020 | Better Together

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and staying safe and happy! I finally found the time to play with the March card kit from Simon Says Stamp. It’s called Better Together, and it’s a beauty! This kit has sold out, but you can buy all the products separately–However, I would skip the watercolor pencils included in the kit. Lol! More on that below. I created 5 cards with this kit–all floral cards and all very different.

Card #1: Split Panel Watercolor Pencil Card

There were 3 floral watercolor panels in this kit, and I used them all. For my first card I went for the beautiful poppy panel. I used the watercolor pencils from the kit, but I didn’t enjoy using them. These pencils aren’t very pigmented. If I could do this over, I’d use my Arteza Watercolor pencils. I almost threw out this panel, but I really wanted to make it work. I cut the panel in half, and then fussy cut around the flowers. I popped them up with foam tape and attached them to the card stock. This made it look fuller. I then attached the sentiment with foam tape in the center.

Card #2: Colored Pencil Dogwood Flower Card

I love this dogwood flower panel! To color it in I pulled out my Arteza colored pencils. They blended nicely on this watercolor paper! After I finished my coloring, I framed it with the striped pattern paper. I did raise it up with foam tape. To embellish it I glued on some Fortune Teller enamel dots–I love these things!!

Card #3: Colored Pencil on Pattern Paper Card

I used my favorite stamp from this set on this card. This vine stamp is so beautiful and unique! I will definitely be pulling this out again. I used my regular sized Misti stamping tool to stamp this out–it wouldn’t fit in my Mini Misti. I stamped it down on one side of the pattern paper, and then all I had to do was flip the paper and stamp again–easy symmetrical stamping. I used 3 Arteza colored pencils to color in the vines, and I allowed the color of the pattern paper to show through on the tips of the petals.

Card #4: Watercolor Pencil Daisy Card

I used the 3rd watercolor panel for card #4. I love daisies! I colored in this panel with the watercolor pencils from the kit. I fussy cut around the petals, and then I used more foam tape to pop it up off the white card stock. To frame it up a bit, I die cut a stitched scallop and glued it down with liquid adhesive.

Card #5: Pattern Paper Showcase Card

I absolutely love all the pattern paper from this kit, and I wanted to use some of my favorites on this card. The bottom layer is a piece of mint card stock, and then I layered stripes of paper over that. I stamped out my image with 3 different colors of Memento ink to create a gradient. I was going to stop here, but I felt it needed something more–and why not add a beautiful flower image? I colored in the flower with more colored pencils. This card it my favorite from the set.

Not 2 Shabby Design Team Project | Picnic Fun | March 2020

Hello everyone! I’m showcasing another new release stamp for the Not 2 Shabby Shop. This adorable stamp is called Picnic Fun. The images in this set are so fabulous; that little panda bear in overalls is just too cute! I’m also creating a slimline card for the first time using special dies from Trinity stamps. Picnic Fun Slimline Card

I stamped out all my images at once with the help of my Misty stamping platform onto a piece of Neenah Solar white 120lb card stock. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink this time, and I’m really loving it because I don’t have to stamp up my images so many times. I colored in all the images with the Copic Markers listed below.

For the background I used Trinity’s Slimline Frame & Fold Dies as well as their Scenic Borders Dies. I cut them out with more white card stock and ink blended on some Distress Oxide inks (colors listed below in the links). The slimline card measures 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 and it fits perfectly into a business size envelope.

I was having so much fun creating the card that I forgot about my sentiment. I ended up stamping it in the top right corner. To make it stand out a little better, I framed it with the banner stamp from this stamp set. I loved how it turned out, and I’m definitely going to be creating more slimline cards in the future. 5 Cards | Inspiration & Techniques using In Love Arts Shop Products | March 2020

Card #1: Sweet Thank You Card

The stamp set is called Waiting Girl, and she is just adorable. I stamped her onto a piece of white card stock and cololred her in with Copic markers. I used a beautiful piece of striped pattern paper behind my main panel called Love Forever. I really love the simplicity of this card. I think this image would also go great with the sentiment, “Thinking of you.”

Card #2: Paper Pieced Heart Jar Card

The star of the show for this card is the darling cutting die called, Love You Bottle Dies. I cut it out several times with different colors of card stock and paper pieced it back together.

Card #3: Stamped Pattern Love You Card

I used the Waiting Girl stamp again for this card, but just the smaller images. I stamped them randomly across my purple panel with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I love this ink; it’s crisp and dark. Then I pulled out some colored pencils to quickly color in the images. The word die cuts come from the Love You Bottle Dies. I cut them out 5 times, and used liquid glue to adhere them together. This gave is some fun dimension on my card.

Card #4: Pocket Full of Flowers Card

I really love this little cutting die; it’s called, Flower in Pocket Dies. Getting a card like this in the mail would brighten anyone’s day! I had fun paper piecing the flowers and greenery over the blue die cut. I used another piece of pattern paper from the Love Forever pack behind my die cut.

Card #5: Colored Pencils on Pattern Paper Card

I used another of the little girl images on this card, and this time I stamped her directly on a piece of pattern paper. I love the soft butterflies on this paper, and it was my inspiration for my color palette.

Not 2 Shabby Shop Spring/Summer Release & Video Hop 2020

Welcome! I hope you are having a fun weekend! Today is the spring/summer stamp release for the Not 2 Shabby Shop!! I have some darling stamp sets to show you! We also have a video hop and a giveaway to celebrate! The links to the videos and the products are listed below!

For the cards I created I used the “Spring is in the Air” stamp set. I adore the images in this set! I will have more videos to come using the 3 other new release stamp sets.

Card #1: Stamped Pattern Paper Card

I love using every single image in the stamp sets I create with, and all of the images in this set are so fabulous. I stamped all of the smaller images onto a piece of green card stock using green ink. This creates a lovely tone-on-tone look–subtle but beautiful. I didn’t want my background to compete for attention with the images I colored in using colored pencils. I wanted the bunny, rainbow and sentiment to really pop on the front of my card. (Don’t you just love that cute little bunny!)

Card #2: Springtime Friends Card

For card #2 I stamped the images onto a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock because I wanted to color them in with my Arteza Real Brush Pens. They blend beautifully on this paper. After my painting was done, I came in with some Gelly Roll Pens and added hatching lines to create more depth in the shadows.

Card #3: Rainy Hello Card

I only created a sliver of a scene behind my little duck image on my third card because I wanted him to be the center of attention. I stamped my image first and covered him up with a mask. I also masked off my card panel with some Post-it Note Tape. Next, I blended on some Distress Oxide Inks, starting at the top, called Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint and Lucky Clover. After that I pulled up all the masks and colored in the duck with Copic Markers. I used the markers to draw in a little bit of grass under the duck so he didn’t appear to be floating on the card. Lastly, I stamped out the sentiment and drew in some rain drops with a white Gelly Roll Pen.

Spellbinders | Small Die of the Month Club Kit | 24 Carrot

Happy Friday! I have some really fun card projects to show you today! I’m using Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month Kit to create some adorable Easter cards. This set is called “24 Carrot,” and it includes 9 cutting dies. Aren’t those bunnies adorable!! I love that giant carrot too.

Card #1: Giant Carrot with Bunnies Card

For my first card I wanted to use both of the super cute bunny dies. I cut them out with white card stock. I love how these dies cut out some of the details on each bunny like their whiskers and the arms on the standing bunny. There is also a die for the insides of their ears and their tails. I wanted to put the bunny with the die cut arms on top of the carrot because it went along with the sentiment, “What’s Up.”

The pattern paper I’m using is from Spellbinders’ March Card kit, and it is also an add-on, which means you can buy it separately from the kit. I used a piece of gold mirror card stock to cut out the frame of the carrot and another piece to mat my pattern paper. I also used some of the Gold Fleck Gemstone to embellish my card–also sold separately from the card kit. Those bunnies just make me happy!

Card #2: Giant Carrot Shaker Card

The carrot cutting die creates the perfect frame for a shaker card. I used some Darice thin strips of foam tape behind my carrot frame, added some orange sequins, and attached it to a piece of white card stock. To add dimension to the carrot tops, I adhered some down flat to the pattern paper and some on top of the shaker element. The blue bow hid the ends of the greenery very well. The bow is from the Die Cut Shapes which you can also purchase separately. I used more pattern paper from the march release called Feeling Hoppy. I have never created a shaker carrot element before–you never know where card crafting will take you–Lol!

Card #3: Graphic Style Easter Card

I just couldn’t get enough of this standing bunny–he is so darling! I cut out this bunny die with very bright colors of card stock. I allowed the gray card stock to show through the bunnies’ eyes and noses. The gray rectangles I popped up with foam tape. I also switched up the ear die cuts to add a pop of color to each bunny. I glued down my sentiment flat on the gray rectangle and glued the left-over bunny tails around it for a cute embellishment.

Hello! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I’m here for Spellbinders today. I get to show you their latest card kit, and today is the big release! I’m super excited about this kit because it’s all about spring and Easter! I’m so weary of winter, and creating with this kit made me feel like spring isn’t all that far away. Below is a peek at some of the goodies included in the kit.

I had so much fun crafting with this kit!! I created 10 cards; some are Easter cards, some are spring–there is a wide variety of materials in this kit. At the beginning of my video I show the unboxing of this kit.

You can subscribe to the this monthly kit, or if you’d prefer, you can purchase the add-on items separately. This month the add-on items are the Pad of Pattern Paper, the Die Cut Shapes, and the Gold Fleck Gemstones. Some of the cards I created use only these add-on items.
