Hello and welcome! I’m stamping up some cute designs exclusive to the Not 2 Shabby Shop today. For my first card I used the set called “You, Me and Pumpkin Spice.” I love the little squirrels in this set as well as all the fabulous fall images. On my second card I used “Fall Gnomes.” It includes two of the cutes gnome images I’ve ever seen.
Card #1: Stamped Pattern Paper Card
One of my all time favorite techniques is stamping out my own pattern paper. Not only is it fun, but it allows you to use all of the images from your set on one card. I stamped my images onto a piece of kraft cardstock using Fallen Leaves brown ink. This is a pigment ink, so you almost always get a crisp stamping without the use of the stamp positioner. I wanted my squirrels to really stand out from the kraft cardstock, so I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and colored them in with colored pencils.
Card #2: Row Stamping Slimline Card
For my slimline card I pulled out my stamp positioner to stamp out the gnome several times. I used the same Fallen Leaves brown ink, and I stamped it onto a piece of light brown cardstock. I cut out this panel using a slimline die set from Trinity Stamps. I stamped the gnome in the middle first, so I could make sure he was centered, and then I shifted my paper along the bottom edge of my stamp positioner 1 1/4 inches on each side and stamped 4 more gnomes.
For the gnome that I colored in, I stamped him onto a piece of white cardstock. I used more colored pencils and fussy cut him out. I popped him up with foam adhesive as well as the sentiment. This slimline card measures 8 1/2 by 3 1/2.
Hello and welcome! Today I’m sharing a few techniques for making the stamps you have in your stash that are intended for A2 (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) sized cards fit on slimline cards. Slimline cards are all the rage lately, but a lot of our stamps were made for a smaller sized card. The stamps I’m using today fit perfectly on an A2 card but not so well on a slimline card. I’m using some fun stamps and dies from the Not 2 Shabby shop–links listed below.

Card #1: Split Image Slimline Card
On my first card I’m using a beautiful stamp set from Trinity Stamps called Blooming Bunch. I colored it in with Copic markers and then die cut it using the coordinating die. To make this fit on a slimline, I cut the image in half. I adhered one piece to the bottom left side of my card and the other to the top right edge using foam adhesive to give it dimension. Make sure you adhere the largest of the two sides near the bottom. This will keep your card balanced and prevent it from looking top-heavy. I heat embossed the sentiment in the middle of the card with white embossing powder. I love the way this card turned out!
To create the second slimline card, I’m using a small stamp set from Picket Fence Studios called A World of Octobers. This is a very small but adorable set. To make this small set fit on a tall slimline card, I framed them out. I placed two images from this set in two separate windows, and I used the third window to frame my sentiment.

Card #1: Stacked Pumpkins Slimline Card
This stack of pumpkins was so much fun to create on a slimline card–I wouldn’t have been able to do this tall of a stack on a regual A2 cards. I love all the images from this Happy Fall set! I stamped out my crow first and then stamped down from there, masking as I went along. I stamped on a piece of speckled off-white cardstock from MFT called Primitive Cream Heavyweight Cardstock. I love using colored cardstock for my colored pencil work. It gives you a nice base color to start with.
I then colored in my images with colored pencils. I colored the pumpkins different colors to add variation to my scene. I then masked my images and colored in the background behind them with Distress Oxide Inks. This is a really fast way to add color to your work.

I used the largest wonky stitch slimline die this time and cut out a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. This is the paper to use if you are using your Arteza or Zig Real Brush Pens. It allows the pens to blend beautifully. I stamped and masked my scenes using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and poured clear embossing powder over them. Once I melted the embossing powder, the lines were shiny and smooth. The embossed lines contain the watercolors, so you can paint and don’t have to worry about your images bleeding into each other.
I cut out another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the smallest wonky stitch die and used that for my sentiment strip and to separate my two scenes. I stamped two more sentiments–one above each scene. The sentiments fit perfectly in the top corners of these scenes.

I stamped most of the images onto a piece of Spectrum Noir Smooth White Cardstock–great for using with your alcohol markers. All colored them in using the same yellow, purple and brown markers. This will add cohesion to your card. I fussy cut them out with a small, white border.
I used a window die to cut out a frame with black cardstock and with Bristol Smooth Cardstock. The latter paper works beautifully with ink blending. I blended Distress Inks onto the little window panels. The colors I used are Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet on 2 panels. On the other 2 panels I used Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade. I wanted to put some bright colors behind my critters.
Next I started putting the card together. I glued down the window frame and window panel with liquid adhesive.
I used foam tape to pop up my critters in the windows. I also used some Pretty Pink Posh jewels call Boo to add some sparkle to the card.
And here is the finished card! I had a blast putting this one together! Let the fall time and Halloween time card crafting begin!!
Welcome! I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Today’s card is a chocolate themed card. I love this cute stamp set from Stamping Bella Oddball line called “Oddball with a Sweet Tooth.” The sentiment really spoke to me; it says “Sometimes to stop eating all the chocolate, one must first eat all the chocolate.” It’s a very funny and true sentiment. I pulled out my colored pencils for this card. I’m using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on a piece of Stonehenge white colored pencil paper. I love using this paper for my colored pencil work. It has a nice tooth to it. To get a smoother look, you could use Gamsol and a blending stump to smooth out your work, but I like the look of the colored pencil lines.

I also used a set of slimline dies from Trinity Stamps to cut out the two panels for my card. I love creating slimline cards lately. Trinity Stamps make some really fun slimline dies. To create my chocolate covered striped panel I used a Trinity Stamp Slimline stencil and blended on some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.

Card #1: Paper Piecing Card
For my first card I wanted it to be a masculine card. I stamped out the Pup In a Cup onto a piece of Spectrum Noir Smooth Cardstock which is great to use with Copic markers. I stamped this image two more times–once on white cardstock again and once on kraft cardstock. To color in my images I used lots of Earth Tone Copic markers. I had so much fun coloring in this darling pug!
Next, I fussy cut it out as well as an extra pair of paws and the wrapper around the cup. This is where the paper piecing comes in. I embossed the cup wrapper with a Dot Matrix folder to add some texture and then popped it up on the cup with foam squares. I used more foam adhesive behind his little paws. This adds some dimension and texture to the card and makes the image look kinda 3-D. After I decided which of all the cute sentiments to use, I stamped, “Pugs & Kisses” at the bottom of the card. It just fit perfectly there. For my last touch, I added a sparkly orange enamel heart .
Card 2 is my feminine version–hence, the pink bow. I wanted to put the pup in a cup behind my little cut-out window. I used a Peekaboo Window Die from MFT Stamps that also cut out darling stitched detail around it. However, before I cut it out, I attached a piece of Summer Splash Pattern Paper from Pink & Main. I glued her bow onto the corner of the window to make it part of the frame.
I used lighter brown Copic markers of this pug. I also used the small circle stamp and the semi-circle stamp to add cute dots onto the cup. I fussy cut out my pup in a cup again and adhered it to the inside of the card. You can see the pup with her pink bow on the outside, but when you open the card, you can see the full image and an additional sentiment.
Hello and welcome! It’s time for some summer card crafting! I’m using new crafty goodies from Sunny Studio. I fell in love with their stamp set called Radiant Plumeria–and it’s a fabulous layering set! Not only are these kinds of stamps fun to layer and build dimension, but they are also perfect for the times you don’t feel like coloring. All you need is ink.
I love the bold summer sentiment in this set, and you also have lots of other sentiments to pair it with! I’m also using the coordinating dies to cut out the flowers and leaves. The dies make creating cards that much easier! To create the window in my card, I used a new die set called Stitched Semi-Circles. I’m always on the look-out for new dies, and these are so unique and fun!

Hello crafty friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I’m having a lot of fun creating slimline cards lately. When I first saw the latest craze for cards that fit inside a legal-sized envelope, I wasn’t that interested in trying it. It looked to me like such an odd size for a greeting card, but I gave it a try anyway. Now I can’t stop making them. The thing I like best about them is you get a lot more real-estate! You can fit a lot more images onto your slimline cards!
