Watercolor Poppies Card

Welcome to my blog!  I’m revisiting one of my favorite stamp sets today–MFT’s Pretty Poppies.  These flower images were a lot of fun to use with distress inks and watercolors.

First I stamped out the poppies with distress ink.  I used Ripe Persimmon–it was the perfect base color of orangey-red.

Then it was time to pull out my tin of Prima watercolors to add more dimension to my flowers.

I stamped up the block of text that came in the set with poppy red ink to add interest to the plain white panel around the flowers.  I added the sentiment and a little twine and my card was complete!  I love the old-fashioned look of this card.

Happy Fall Card

Fall is just around the corner, but here in Chicagoland we are getting a glimpse of what’s to come.  The trees are turning gold, and there is a crispness to the air.  I can see apple cider donuts in my near future–Lol!  Yum!!

Here is my celebration of fall-time card.  I used Lawn Fawn’s stamp set called Jump for Joy.  I loved coloring in the critters with my Prismacolor pencils.  I do believe this is my favorite art medium.

Here is the video of how I put this little card together!  Thank you for visiting my blog!  Happy fall to you!
