Scrapping for Less | September FOTM Card Kit Reveal | Orchards & Patches

Fall is here! Let’s take a trip to the Apple Orchard or maybe you want to go to the Pumpkin Patch! A little story about pumpkin patches…I started scrapbooking when our first grandchild was born. And boy did I love documenting everything about his growth. When he was 3 I wanted to take him to a pumpkin patch for the sole purpose of being able to do a photo shoot there and as a result create a scrapbook page. So whether you scrapbook or make cards, make sure you enjoy the fall weather and do something fun! Our Guest and Design Team has some fabulous project to share with the September kit “Orchards and Patches.” Please visit Scrapping for Less to get your kit. Hello everyone! I’m guest designing today for Scrapping for Less and their Flavor of the Month September Card Kit! I love these kits–they are packed with crafty delights! I’m crafting up some fall time cards.

Included in this kit are 4 different collections, each including a stamp set and gorgeous pattern paper as well as other goodies. Below you’ll see collections 1 and 2.

Next you’ll see collections 3 and 4. I really love all the stamps sets in these collections.

You’ll also get some beautiful cardstock, and if you subscribe to the Banana Split level, you’ll get an extra packet of goodies.

Card #1: Partial Die Cut Sunflower Card (Collection 1)

To create this card I stamped my image and colored it in with Copic markers. Coloring on a colored cardstock makes your coloring go quick because you already have a base color. I cut out half of my image so it would overhang onto the pretty pattern paper. To cut it out I used my paper trimmer for the straight lines and my scissors.

Card #2: Fall is Sweeter with Honey Card Sketch (Collection 1)

I used one of the card sketches posted on the Scrapping for Less website to create this card. Each month they supplies you with these great sketches. I used more images from the stamp set included with collection 1. The pattern paper adds so much to this card.

Card #3: Autumn Gnome Card (Collection 2)

I adore this gnome in the stamp set from collection 2! I colored him in with colored pencils. To create the background behind him I used Distress Inks: Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed. To get a smooth blend make sure you use Bristol Smooth cardstock.

Card #4: Scarecrow Card (Collection 3)

Another fabulous stamp in this collection–love the scarecrow! I colored him in with colored pencils. I used three different pattern paper from this collection on this card.

Card #5: Happy Fall Shaker Card (Collection 4)

From one of the die cut shapes included in this collection, I created a fun shaker card. I used a few elements from the other collections to create this card such as the Happy Fall sentiment from collection 2 and the ribbon and buttons from collection 3. The sequins come from the goodie pack you get when you subscribe to the Banana Split level.

Here is my process video! You can watch it here or over on my YouTube channel in HD.

Hello my crafty friends! This month’s card kit from Scrapping for Less is all about Valentine’s Day card making! I LOVE creating Valentine’s Day cards, and this kit helped me get a head-start. All the different collections from this kit is fabulous–it’s really like 4 kits in one. Below you’ll see all the ingredients to the Double Dip Sundae kit as well as the Banana Split level kit. I’m crafting with the Banana Split level–I absolutely love the extra little goody bag of products; it’s always amazing and coordinates perfectly with the different collections.

dec.fullcollection

dec.bananasplitdec.oneandtwodec.threeandfourdec.cardstockHere are all six cards I created using this kit!

Image7

Card #1: Woof You Be Mine Card

I love the stamps from this collection! The puppies and sentiments are adorable–great for creating Valentine’s for kids. I colored in my image with Copic markers and used teal blue markers to color in some background around him. To create this card I used one of the sketches selected for this kit. The sketches are fun to play along with–I end up creating cards that I wouldn’t have created on my own.

Image1

Card #2: Love You Furrever Card

I couldn’t get enough of this adorable doggy stamp. I stamped him again with black dye ink and colored him in with Copic markers. I cut out a piece of masking paper using a heart die and used the negative piece over the card panel. I also put a mask over the dog and ink blended around him using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink. I really love the pattern paper from this collection, and I used a piece to mat my panel.

Image2

Card #3: Wood You Be Mine Card

Collection two contains more fabulous stamps and pattern paper. The inspiration for this card was another of the four card sketches and this piece of plaid paper I used as my background. (I’m gonna need more of this pattern paper!) I colored in the log and the bird with Prismacolor pencils, and I tried matching my coloring to the colors in the pattern paper. I used cool grays and blues and pinks, and I love how this card turned out.

Image3

Card #4: Friendship Card

The stamp set from collection three is so unique and beautiful. I adore it! It has such delicate lines to it, and then you have this cute heart where you can stamp your sentiment. I colored in the hands with more Prismacolor pencils, and I stamped the heart with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. I had to mask the heart while I stamped the hands, and visa versa. I loosely followed another card sketch to create this card.

Image5

Card #5: Arrow Hearts Stencil Card

Collection three also came with a beautiful stencil, and I had fun playing with it! I used some White Glitz Glitter Gel which I dyed pink using a spun sugar re-inker. I gently smeared it over the stencil onto a piece of navy blue card stock. I allowed it to dry for an hour. Next, I used the Love die from the extra pack of goodies you get when you subscribe to the Banana Split level card kit. I cut it out twice and glued them together to give my word die a bit of dimension. This was a fun and fast card to put together!

Image4

Card #6: Snail Mail Card

What a darling stamp set collection four includes! I love the little mail box, and I had to use the puppy stamp from collection one–they went so well together! I colored them in with Copic markers. I used the last of the four card sketches to put this card together. I like how this card turned out because it includes a lot of different papers.

I was asked to guest design again this month! I created a card using each collection from November’s Flavor of the Month Card kit. The theme is “A Vintage Christmas.” I absolutely love anything vintage–especially Christmas decorations! All the stamps and pattern papers from this kit have that fabulous vintage vibe–they were so much fun to craft with! Out of all the collections in this kit, I really couldn’t choose a favorite. Each collection is awesome, and I loved how all my cards turned out. Check out my YouTube Video below and supply links!

IMG_9171

Card #1: Victorian Christmas Card

I stamped this Victorian house onto a piece of kraft card stock from the kit and colored it in using colored pencils. I pulled out my Gelly Roll Pens to add bright glowing colors to the twinkle lights hanging from the eves of the house. I then stamped the snowflakes from the set using white pigment ink.

IMG_9161

IMG_9162

Card #2: Christmas Post Card

The stamp from this collections is from LDRS, and of the back of the packaging they show a picture of this stamp already colored in. I used this as my inspiration, and colored in my card just like it. I love all the white details they left uncolored on their example. I used a mixture of my Prismacolors and Polychromos pencils to color in this scene.

I used one of the sketches to put this card together. I don’t often create square cards, but I had fun putting this one together. It is a 5″ x 5″ card, and I cut out the square window on the red pattern paper as well as the striped pattern paper using a square die.

IMG_9163

Card #3: Jolly Santa Card

I love this Santa image! I’m going to be using this stamp again to make more Christmas cards this year. I colored him in using colored pencils again, but I used a very soft color palette. His hat looks more pink than red, and I love it! I stamped him onto a piece of Insulation Pink card stock. It was my inspiration for coloring in my Santa. It’s such a soft pink–you can’t buy this card stock anymore, so I’m going to hoard the rest of my 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. Lol! I used another card sketch to pull this card together.

IMG_9164

IMG_9165

Card #4: An Ornamental Christmas Card

I used even more colored pencils this time. I love using them on kraft card stock, so that’s what I did. I masked off the flower that was on this bulb so that I could stamp the sentiment there instead. I heat embossed it with Alabaster White embossing powder, but before I heat embossed it, I just stamped it with embossing ink, colored it in, and then heat embossed it. This allowed me to color in the image without having to go around the raised embossed lines.

IMG_9166

IMG_9167

Card #5: Noel Ornament Card

I love this die from the Banana Split level! I wanted to cut it out with some glitter paper, so I found a piece that matched really well with the pattern paper from the kit. I cut it out two more times with the die and glued them together. This added more dimension to the die cut.

Card Kits, Christmas Card 2017, Colored Pencils, Scrapping for Less

Scrapping for Less | October 2019 Flavor of the Month Card Kit Reveal | Christmas Around the World

75086829_10157836379468615_8751927491251142656_o (1)

I was an elementary school teacher for many years. During Christmas time for Social Studies we studied Christmas traditions around the world. This was my absolute favorite time of the year with my students. So, for our Christmas Around the World card kit I have chosen my most favorite countries we studied to feature.

Mexico: Great food and wonderful traditions centered around Papa Noel.

Sweden: St. Lucia was my favorite tradition in Sweden we studied.

Australia: My students got the biggest kick out of the fact that it was hot and summer there during Christmas.

Germany: Of course what would a study be without studying the origin of the Christmas tree.

Please sit back and enjoy the elements we put together for our Christmas Around the World Flavor of the Month Card Kit. Make sure you leave our designers some love on their blog and hop back to the SFL blog to enter the Rafflecopter. You can purchase the kit on Scrapping for Less on the Subscription page.

____________________________________________________________________________________________
Hello, everyone!
Welcome to my blog! I am guest designing for Scrapping for Less for their October Flavor of the Month Card Kit. I designed a card for each of the four different collections included in this kit. Check out my process video below! I love Scrapping for Less’ card kits, especially their October kits because they are Christmas themed. It’s a great kit to help you get started on your Christmas cards.
I really love the theme of this year’s kit–Christmas around the world. There are so many fun and unique stamps, papers and crafty goodies inside. I especially love the Papa Noel Stamp along with the Feliz Navidad sentiment! For each of these cards I used one of the Card Sketches that Scrapping for Less provides.
Here is my process video for these cards! You can watch it here or over on my YouTube channel in HD.
Card #1: Papa Noel
I stamped out Papa Noel on some Stonehenge colored pencil paper–see link below. This paper is fabulous to use with your color pencils of choice. It’s smooth, but it has a fine texture that pulls the pigments off your colored pencils. I used odorless mineral spirits and blending stumps to smooth out my coloring.
IMG_8876
Card #2: Santa in Australia
For this card I stamped out the images on a circle die cut, and I used Arteza alcohol Markers to color it in.
Here are the markers I used: Santa – Pale Peach; Trunks, Beard & Ball of Hat: White Diamond, Cloudy Gray; Trunks & Hat – Red, Ruby Red, and Apple Green; Surf Board – Lime Green & Tuscan Sun; Beach – Jasmine Yellow & Beach Sand; Ocean – Arctic Blue
IMG_8878
Card #3: Easy Ephemera and Pattern Paper Card
This card was the quickest of the set to create. This card leans heavily on the cuteness of the pattern paper and ephemera pieces, and they support it well! I love all the pattern papers in these collections!
IMG_8880
IMG_8882
Card #4: O Christmas Tree Card
I love a great tree stamp, and this one really tickled my fancy. I stamped it out with some green Ombre ink that gives it even more dimension and interest. I stamped the star with yellow ink.
