Stained Glass Window Inlay Cards | Spellbinders | Stained Glass Bouquet Collection

Happy Monday! Are you ready for more inlay die cutting techniques? I promise, these are very simple and fast to do. I’m using the gorgeous new dies from the Becca Feeken collection called Stained Glass Bouquet.

Card One

For my first card I used the set called Sweet Rondure. I chose 4 different colors of cardstock to inlay in this die cut. Because there are only 3 different inlay shapes to this large die, I was able to jumble them together in my jar trays. I did separate them by color, however. The 3 pieces are very distinctive, so it was very easy to pop them into place–and fun! This is a 5 1/4 square card. The sentiment comes from the All Occasions Sentiments set. I used some pattern paper behind my die cuts, added some gems and that was it.

Card Two

My second card is an A7 size card which is 5 x 7 inches. I used the Deco Blooms die set to create this card. For the background panel I didn’t do any inlaying; I simple ink blended some teal inks onto a piece of white cardstock and then placed the intricate die on top. For the cute round rosettes, however, I did inlay Pink Sand and Dahlia cardstocks–which, again, was very easy to do. The sentiment comes from the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiments–I love these!!

Mother’s Day Basket Pop-Up Card | Scrappy Tails Crafts

Hello my friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I wanted to show you the Mother’s Day card I created for my mom this year. It’s not your traditional Mother’s Day card. This is a 3D basket; however, it can fold up into a card. It fits into an A7 size envelope, and when your mom opens it, it pops up into the cutest basket.

It may look complicated to put together, but it’s actually quite simple and fun to create. All of the products I used to create this card are from Scrappy Tails Crafts.

Cute Boots & Windy Sky Cards | Spellbinders | Cardmaker Stamp Collection

Hello my friends! Happy Earth Day! I created some really fun cards that celebrate spring. These are from the Cardmaker Stamp Collection. I’m using the sets called Cute Boots and Windy Sky. These sets are charming; I love how sketchily they are drawn.

I’m stamping and coloring these images on some colored cardstocks. This is a fabulous technique–it gives you a base color to build up your pencils on. I also did some heat embossing.

Card 1

On my first cards I stamped a pattern with the large umbrella stamp and colored it in with colored pencils. The paper I used is Silver Fox. I made sure to allow some of the paper to show through. It makes for some fast coloring too. I stamped the girl holding the umbrella onto a piece of Glacier cardstock. This is a beautiful soft blue. I also colored her in with more Caran d’Ache colored pencils.

Card 2

The Stormy Sky stamp is a background stamp, and it is stunning! I chose to stamp this with VersaFine Onyx black ink and heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. This will be a great stamp to use on underwater scenes for summer. I stamped the girl on a piece of white cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers.

Slimline Card Techniques with New Slimline Dies | Spellbinders | Slimline Collection

Hello everyone! I’m super excited to show you some new slimline products from Spellbinders. These dies are gorgeous! I created 2 cards using the Blossoming Slimline Dies and 1 card using the Flowering Slimline Dies. For the first two cards I used an inlay die technique and for the third card I simply added flower die cuts over the panel. No matter how you use these dies, the results is stunning. These are perfect for spring and summer card crafting.

I paired these slimline dies with additional Spellbinders products. I used the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiments for the sentiments on my cards. I used the Small Die of the Month for March for the flower dies. They fit perfectly over the flowers in the Flowering Slimline die.

Creating Cards with Pattern Paper & Ephemera | Not 2 Shabby Shop April Card Box | Lazy Day Box

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m creating some more cards with the Not 2 Shabby Shop’s April Card Box called Lazy Day. We can all use cards in our stash to mail out and remind our friends that we love them, and it’s okay to take time to relax, refresh and recharge.

For these cards I’m focusing on the beautiful pattern paper and ephemera die cut shapes. I’m also using the stamp set called, “Me Time.” I love the images from this stamp set–so cute!! These cards were really fast and fun to put together!

Spellbinders, Spellbinders Small Die of the Month

1 Cutting Die, 2 Techniques | Spellbinders Small Die for April | Stitched Thanks

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month for April is out and I had so much fun playing with this one. I created 2 cards and used a different technique on each one. This set is called, “Stitched Thanks,” for a reason. It is meant to be embroidered on. The die even embossed lines in the flowers so you can see where the stiches can go. I’ve never embroidered on paper before, but I was willing to give it a try. I loved it. It did take some time, but I also created a card that was super quick and easy for those of you who don’t want to embroider.

Card One

On my first card I pulled out my darning needle and embroidery threads. There are six strands put together in these skeins, but I pulled each one apart and only used three. I attached all the ends of the different colors of thread with double sided adhesive to the back of the die cut. I love how this turned out. I sat and watched a movie while I embroidered.

Card Two

The second card took a matter of minutes. I used white cardstock again and pulled out some oxide inks. I dabbed on the ink using finger daubers. For the letter on both cards, I popped them up with foam strips. To finish off this card I used Wink of Stella over the letters to add some sparkle and some colorful gems.

It’s time for Spellbinders’ April Card Kit! This month’s kit is called, “Sincerely Yours.” It includes lots of fun crafty products. My favorite is the die set–it creates a mini envelope and flowers to put inside it! Love this! The stamp set was also lots of fun. It includes a mug with flowers growing out of it, and you get lots of mini sentiments to stamp on the mug. I think you’re going to love the kit this month!
