Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month for April is out and I had so much fun playing with this one. I created 2 cards and used a different technique on each one. This set is called, “Stitched Thanks,” for a reason. It is meant to be embroidered on. The die even embossed lines in the flowers so you can see where the stiches can go. I’ve never embroidered on paper before, but I was willing to give it a try. I loved it. It did take some time, but I also created a card that was super quick and easy for those of you who don’t want to embroider.
Card One
On my first card I pulled out my darning needle and embroidery threads. There are six strands put together in these skeins, but I pulled each one apart and only used three. I attached all the ends of the different colors of thread with double sided adhesive to the back of the die cut. I love how this turned out. I sat and watched a movie while I embroidered.
Card Two
The second card took a matter of minutes. I used white cardstock again and pulled out some oxide inks. I dabbed on the ink using finger daubers. For the letter on both cards, I popped them up with foam strips. To finish off this card I used Wink of Stella over the letters to add some sparkle and some colorful gems.
