Fall Themed Cards – Jackie's Craft Table

I love a great card kit, and I recently learned that Scrappy Tails Crafts now have card kits. The one I’m featuring today is their Harvest Blessings kit, but there is also a delightfully spooky Halloween kit. It’s time to make some fall time cards! One of my favorite items from this kit is the Harvest Wheat cutting die! It’s fabulous and it’s going down as one of my favorite dies of the year. So, let’s get into the card crafting . . .

Card 1:

For my first card I had to use the Harvest Wheat die. I cut it out with some saffron cardstock and added a few additional stocks to it using brushed gold, rainforest and desert storm cardstock. The set even comes with a little tie to put on the wheat bouquet. Love it!

Card 2:

I stamped out all of the sunflower images and colored them in with Copic markers for my second card. If you like sunflower stamps, this set called Wild Sunflowers is beautifully illustrated. This flower was the focal piece to my card, and I place it in front of an arch die to pull it out from the busy pattern paper.

Copic Markers:

Sunflower Petals: Y21, Y13, Y17

Flower Center: YR27, E37

Leaves: YG06, YG27

Card 3:

On card three I used my favorite technique: pattern stamping. I stamped out all of the sunflower images into a piece of Stonehenge cardstock. I chose one flower to color in for my focal piece. I used Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. These pencils blend like butter on this Stonehenge Kraft! This ink I used is Fallen Leaves. I love using brown ink for my fall time cards.

Card 4:

I don’t have many layering stencils, but I must say I really enjoyed playing with this one. Card 4 is my favorite of my set. The stencil was so fun and effortless to create and I love the result. It also had a coordinating die. I popped up my stenciled piece with a piece of gold glitter foam. For the sentiment, I found that I could stamp it right over the leaves.

Inks:

Flower Petals: Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Sunbeam & Citrine

Flower Center: MFT Kraft & Memento – Rich Cocoa

Leaves: Pawsitively Saturated Inks – Celery, Limelicious, Pearfection

Card 5:

For card 5 I had to use the Harvest Wheat die again. I simply cut it out with gold glitter foam and glued it on the front of an ink blended panel. I added a twine bow around it this time. Super fast and easy card to create.

Ink: Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink

Bonus Card:

The single wheat stalk die from the Harvest Wheat die set looks like it could be a lavender stalk, so I cut it out using four different colors of purple cardstock. I used another sunflower that I had colored in with Copic markers. The stamp set includes a lot of lovely sentiments for fall.

Spellbinders Holiday Inspiration Blog Hop | Fall Cards using Distress Mediums

Happy Friday, my crafty friends! Today is the Holiday Inspiration Blog Hop for Spellbinders! We are celebrating the Holiday 2021 products, and there are a lot of fabulous crafty, new items in the shop. Today, I’m featuring the Fall Traditions products.

I created a set of cards using the Falling Leaves Embossing Folder, the Autumn Leaves Etched Dies, and the Happy Turkey Day Etched Dies.

Card One

For my first card I used the Autumn Leaves Cutting Dies and cut them out with watercolor paper. I had so much fun coloring them in with Distress Oxide Re-Inkers. While my leaves were drying, I embossed another panel of the watercolor paper and ink blended on some Distress Oxide Inks. I cut a window out of this panel and popped it up with some foam tape.

I added a little bit of gold embossing on the edges of my leaves to add a touch of sparkle and then arranged them on the front of my card. The sentiment comes from the Fall Greetings Stamp Set.

Card Two

To color in the leaves for card two, I cut them out with more watercolor paper and sprayed them with Distress Oxide Sprays. That was such a fun, messy, lovely process. I highly recommend giving it a try. I embossed another piece of watercolor cardstock with the Fall Leaves folder, and this time I left is plain. I cut a window out of this panel and matted it with a piece of orange cardstock. I popped up this frame with foam tape and placed my leaves inside. The sentiment is, again, from the Fall Greetings Stamp Set. (This is such a fun set! All the stamps are so unique.)

Card Three

This one is my favorite of the set. I love this little turkey! I’ve been looking for a cute turkey image for awhile to make up some Thanksgiving cards, and this one fit the bill. It’s a smaller stamp set with a very good price point. I cut out the turkey pieces using some of Spellbinders Cardstock Essentials. I added a little bit of shading with some Distress Inks, and then glued them together. It was a very quick and easy process. I cut out a few ovals to create a spotlight for my turkey, and I, again, embossed a panel to put behind him using Portobello Cardstock. All my cards have a bow on them tied with Natural Burlap String–Perfect for fall time cards.

Welcome Fall Cards | Spellbinders Happy Harvest Collection by Nichol Spohr

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m getting a jump start on my fall time card crafting using a few newly released products from Spellbinders called Happy Harvest. They were designed by Nichol Spohr, and these products are delightful!

I have the Welcome Fall cutting dies and the Fall Greetings stamp set. I love all the adorable images from this die set! You can create so many beautiful fall scenes.

There are so many lovely sentiments in this stamp set–I love all the different looks and fonts of these stamps. It has you covered for your fall time card crafting!

I created two cards with these sets so far, and all of the cutting dies and stamps were so much fun to create with! I love the little barrel that you can fill with apple and pumpkins. It includes a placard that you can stamp you sentiments on–I love that!

Card 1

For my first card I created a wreath scene using the tree branch die. I filled the little wreath scene with pumpkins and a barrel full of apple. The barrel has a slit at the top so you can tuck the apples in. I used an embossing folder called Plaid Company to add some texture to the back ground.

Card 2

For card two I started with another embossing folder called Sweater Weather. I then ink blended on some Distress Oxide inks in Vintage Photo, Crackling Campfire and Spiced Marmalade. I also used the Vintage Photo ink to distress my images on both cards. I cut out two barrels for this card and used the branch die to put part of a tree in my scene.

More Autumn Cards using Colored Pencils | Not 2 Shabby Design Team Project

Hello and welcome! I’m stamping up some cute designs exclusive to the Not 2 Shabby Shop today. For my first card I used the set called “You, Me and Pumpkin Spice.” I love the little squirrels in this set as well as all the fabulous fall images. On my second card I used “Fall Gnomes.” It includes two of the cutes gnome images I’ve ever seen.

Card #1: Stamped Pattern Paper Card

One of my all time favorite techniques is stamping out my own pattern paper. Not only is it fun, but it allows you to use all of the images from your set on one card. I stamped my images onto a piece of kraft cardstock using Fallen Leaves brown ink. This is a pigment ink, so you almost always get a crisp stamping without the use of the stamp positioner. I wanted my squirrels to really stand out from the kraft cardstock, so I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and colored them in with colored pencils.

Card #2: Row Stamping Slimline Card

For my slimline card I pulled out my stamp positioner to stamp out the gnome several times. I used the same Fallen Leaves brown ink, and I stamped it onto a piece of light brown cardstock. I cut out this panel using a slimline die set from Trinity Stamps. I stamped the gnome in the middle first, so I could make sure he was centered, and then I shifted my paper along the bottom edge of my stamp positioner 1 1/4 inches on each side and stamped 4 more gnomes.

For the gnome that I colored in, I stamped him onto a piece of white cardstock. I used more colored pencils and fussy cut him out. I popped him up with foam adhesive as well as the sentiment. This slimline card measures 8 1/2 by 3 1/2.

Hello everyone! I’m guest designing today for Scrapping for Less and their Flavor of the Month September Card Kit! I love these kits–they are packed with crafty delights! I’m crafting up some fall time cards.

Included in this kit are 4 different collections, each including a stamp set and gorgeous pattern paper as well as other goodies. Below you’ll see collections 1 and 2.

Next you’ll see collections 3 and 4. I really love all the stamps sets in these collections.

Card #1: Partial Die Cut Sunflower Card (Collection 1)

To create this card I stamped my image and colored it in with Copic markers. Coloring on a colored cardstock makes your coloring go quick because you already have a base color. I cut out half of my image so it would overhang onto the pretty pattern paper. To cut it out I used my paper trimmer for the straight lines and my scissors.

Card #2: Fall is Sweeter with Honey Card Sketch (Collection 1)

I used one of the card sketches posted on the Scrapping for Less website to create this card. Each month they supplies you with these great sketches. I used more images from the stamp set included with collection 1. The pattern paper adds so much to this card.

Card #3: Autumn Gnome Card (Collection 2)

I adore this gnome in the stamp set from collection 2! I colored him in with colored pencils. To create the background behind him I used Distress Inks: Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed. To get a smooth blend make sure you use Bristol Smooth cardstock.

Card #4: Scarecrow Card (Collection 3)

Another fabulous stamp in this collection–love the scarecrow! I colored him in with colored pencils. I used three different pattern paper from this collection on this card.

Card #5: Happy Fall Shaker Card (Collection 4)

From one of the die cut shapes included in this collection, I created a fun shaker card. I used a few elements from the other collections to create this card such as the Happy Fall sentiment from collection 2 and the ribbon and buttons from collection 3. The sequins come from the goodie pack you get when you subscribe to the Banana Split level.

Card #1: Stacked Pumpkins Slimline Card

This stack of pumpkins was so much fun to create on a slimline card–I wouldn’t have been able to do this tall of a stack on a regual A2 cards. I love all the images from this Happy Fall set! I stamped out my crow first and then stamped down from there, masking as I went along. I stamped on a piece of speckled off-white cardstock from MFT called Primitive Cream Heavyweight Cardstock. I love using colored cardstock for my colored pencil work. It gives you a nice base color to start with.

I then colored in my images with colored pencils. I colored the pumpkins different colors to add variation to my scene. I then masked my images and colored in the background behind them with Distress Oxide Inks. This is a really fast way to add color to your work.

Card #2: Autumn Scenes Slimline Card

I used the largest wonky stitch slimline die this time and cut out a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. This is the paper to use if you are using your Arteza or Zig Real Brush Pens. It allows the pens to blend beautifully. I stamped and masked my scenes using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and poured clear embossing powder over them. Once I melted the embossing powder, the lines were shiny and smooth. The embossed lines contain the watercolors, so you can paint and don’t have to worry about your images bleeding into each other.

I cut out another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the smallest wonky stitch die and used that for my sentiment strip and to separate my two scenes. I stamped two more sentiments–one above each scene. The sentiments fit perfectly in the top corners of these scenes.

Holiday Cards using In Love Arts Shop Products

Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! The In Love Arts Shop reached out to me and asked if I’d like to try out some of their products. I visited their website and had a look around. I was amazed with all of their beautiful and unique products as well as the prices attached to them. I chose a couple of dies and a stamp set to create some fun holiday cards with.

Card #1: Sunflowers Card

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers, and the images in this stamp set are so charming! I love layering stamp set too! I stamped the outline stamp first randomly across my white card stock panel. I then used the solid stamp layer to add color to the images. I certainly could have colored them in with one of my art mediums, but I wanted to use ink this time. I used some very pale inks for this card. I then cut out my panel with a wonky stitch die, added a sentiment, and this card was done. This was a super fun and easy card to put together, and I love how it turned out!

Card #2: Christmas Shaker Card

This leaves pattern background die is simply gorgeous, and it could be used for any season. I decided to use it to create a Christmas shaker card. I cut it out with a piece of pink card stock, and I backed it with a pale green. These are somewhat nontraditional colors for a Christmas card, but I love these colors together. I used some clear sparkling confetti in my shaker window and a few pink and green Nuvo drops around the sentiment.

Card #3: Autumn Leaf Card

This card is my favorite of the set. I adore this detailed leaf die, and there are so many ways you could use this on a card. I chose to ink blend on some Distress Oxide Inks. It was so simple to do, but it turned out gorgeous. I’m planning on using this leaf die to create some spring themed cards as well. The next thing I want to do with it is heat emboss it with some gold embossing powder, and attach it to a card base. It’s stunning without a lot of effort.

Arteza Watercolor Pencils & Paper Review | Hello Bluebird Pumpkin Time Stamps

Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by! I am reviewing Arteza’s watercolor pencils and their 100% cotton watercolor pad today. I’m also using a darling stamp set from Hello Bluebird called Pumpkin Time. Thirdly, because of one the the sentiments from this stamp set, I’m also going to talk about one of my favorite authors, L.M. Montgomery.

Let’s start with the Arteza Watercolor pencils & paper first. Watercolor pencils is one of my favorite mediums to use. They give you a lot more control than pan watercolors, and they’re fun to use, especially if you like colored pencils like I do. I have a few different sets of watercolor pencils, and I’m very happy to add Arteza’s set to my arsenal. They sent me the 72 pencil set, and I love the bright and vibrant colors. They look beautiful on the paper even before you activate them with your paintbrush. The watercolor paper they sent along with them is 100% cotton which I prefer to use these days. I used to enjoy using Canson XL watercolor paper, and it’s not a bad paper, but once I tried out all cotton papers, it’s hard to go back. The colors blend and move so beautifully on 100% cotton papers. They are more expensive, but as a card maker, the paper lasts me a long time.

Arteza Watercolor Pencils Swatch Chart

The stamp set that I chose to use with the Arteza watercolor pencils and paper is from Hello Bluebird. This is the first time I’ve used one of their stamp sets. I love fox images, and this fox is pushing a wheelbarrow of pumpkins! I just couldn’t resist it. All of the sentiments in this set are beautiful, especially one in particular.

The sentiment I used on my card says, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” This was written by L.M Montgomery–famous for her Anne of Green Gables series. I have very fond memories of reading these to my grandmother who had failing eyesight and couldn’t read anymore. After the PBS series came out in the 80’s, they started re-publishing all of Montgomery’s other works. I gobbled them up. One of my favorites is “The Blue Castle.” It’s sad and funny, and I’ve read it several times. A close second of my favorites is Jane of Lantern Hill. I also really love the Emily of New Moon series. All of her books are great reads!! Let me know if you’ve read any of these, or if you do decide to read one, let me know how you liked it! I love book talk!

10 Cards, 1 Kit | SSS October Card Kit 2019 |Thankful Flowers

Hello everyone! We are in the midst of a gorgeous fall here in Chicagoland. I love creating cards with all the traditional fall-time colors, and I went all-out fall with Simon Says Stamp’s October card kit. The floral images and the sentiments in the stamp set form this kit are lovely! However, its the kind of set that you can use all year round.

I created these cards using a lot of different art mediums, and a lot of different techniques. I always have a ball creating with SSS’s card kits, and this one was no exception. You will see pictures of all the cards I created, my process video, and supply links below.

Card #1: Note of Thanks Card

I stamped the flower image from the Thankful Blooms set onto a piece of darling pattern paper and colored it in with Faber Castell colored pencils. A small strip of metallic paper from the kit, brings this card to the next level.

Card #2:Black & White Thanks Card with Metallic Sentiment

This black and white floral pattern paper is beautiful enough to stand on it’s own, so I just added my sentiment, a few gemstones and called it done.

Card #3: Double Emboss on Patter Paper Card

I embossed the floral image as well as the sentiment with Penny embossing powdered onto a piece of pattern paper. I love all the browns of the embossing, the lines on the pattern paper and the dark chocolate card base. I added a pop of interest by coloring in the flowers and leaves with some Distress Oxide inks. Very fast coloring!

Card #4: Fall Flowers Card

This card took the longest to put together, but it’s my favorite. I colored in the flowers with alcohol markers from Arteza–These flowers are the star of the show; however, I really love the cute pattern paper, and the bold thanks die cut.

Card #5: Diagonal Pattern Paper Cards

This card design in a two-fer. I created two cards in the same time it takes to create one card. I cut down the pattern papers into 5 1/4 by 4 inches, and then I put them together and cut them out diagonally. I added a stripe of metallic card stock and some gemstones to add some bling. I was able to stamp the sentiments right onto the pattern paper because they are bold enough to not get lost.

Card #6: White Embossed Pattern Card

I really enjoyed working with this dark chocolate card stock from the kit. A lot of card crafters, it seems, don’t like to work with brown, but I love it! I embossed the large flower cluster several times around the dark chocolate card stock. I used the same thanks sentiment die on this card, a few iridescent bubbles, and that is all. The beauty of the stamp speaks for itself.

Card #7: Wood Grain Flower Card

I used my Prismacolor pencils to color in the flowers on this card. I really love the wood grain pattern paper, and I though a wood grain frame would compliment it well. I stamped my sentiment right onto the pattern paper even though the letters are very small. The pattern paper was light enough to allow me to do this.

Card #8: Masculine Thank You Card

This was the fasted card to put together. I simply stamped the flower inside the squares of this plaid pattern paper. I used a strip of metallic paper to add a pop of interest to this card. I then adhered everything down onto a black card base on which I heat embossed the sentiment.

Card #9: Watercolor Card with Tiny Notes

I just had to watercolor in these flowers, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I used another piece of pattern paper behind the flower cluster. I stamped two tiny sentiments onto cream colored card stock and tucked them behind the flower cluster.

Card #10: Stamped Pattern Background Card

I stamped all the small images from the stamp set onto a piece of kraft card stock. I adore the dots stamps. I’m keep though out on my desk, because I know I will use them a lot. They aren’t perfect circle dots–they’re wonky dots! I love anything wonky! I feel a bit wonky myself oftentimes. Lol!

After I was done coloring in my background with Prismacolor pencils, I felt it just needed a little something more, so I added a little bit of teal colored pencil on some of the images. It just needed a little pop of color. It didn’t need any gemstones this time; the background is busy enough. I used a piece of metallic paper to mat it. However, I wanted the metallic paper to show up a little more, so I cut slits into two of the corners and slid my panel into it. Kinda different but fun!

Pumpkin Latte Fall Themed Cards 2019 | Newton’s Nook

It’s time to create some fall-time cards!! I found this darling stamp set from Newton’s Nook called Pumpkin Latte, and I just love the images in it!! I started out with one design and then mixed it up to create 4 cards with this fabulous stamp set.

Card #1: Latte Lady

I started out with my background for this card. I used several Distress Oxides to blend out a background for my latte lady. I colored in the images with some alcohol markers from Arteza. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out, and then I simply adhered them to my card base. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Arteza Everblend Art Markers: Skin – Pale Peach, Peach, Apricot; Coat – Carolina Blue, Sapphire Blue; Pumpkins – Yellow Ochre, Sienna Brown, Vermilion, Pumpkin Orange, Apricot; Skirt – Peaches & Cream, Dolphin Gray; Hair – Jasmin Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Ginger; Boots – Ginger, Hazelnut Brown

Card #2: Latte Lady with Pumpkins

The background on this card is darker than the first one because I blended on a lot more distress oxide. I used more images that I colored in with alcohol markers. This card is very similar to the first one.

Card #3: Stamped Pattern Background Card

I love creating stamped pattern backgrounds. I used pigment ink to do this, as it stamps out dark and crisp without a stamp positioner. I blended on some carved pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to create a focal point for my latte lady.

Card #4: Latte Lady on Kraft Card Stock

This card is different from the other 3 because I stamped my images on to kraft card stock and colored them in with some Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I used a banner die cut to spotlight my latte lady.

Colored Pencils: Skin – Coat – Cold Grey II, Cold Grey III, Cold Gray IV, Cobalt Blue; Pumpkins – Cadmium Orange, Dark Cadmium Orange, Light Yellow Ochre, Caput Mortuum, May Green, Olive Green Yellowish; Jeans – Cobalt Blue, Prussian Blue Hair – Burnt Siena, Raw Umber, Dark Naples Ochre
