Harvest Blessings Card Kit | 5 Cards, 1 Kit | Scrappy Tails Crafts

I love a great card kit, and I recently learned that Scrappy Tails Crafts now have card kits. The one I’m featuring today is their Harvest Blessings kit, but there is also a delightfully spooky Halloween kit. It’s time to make some fall time cards! One of my favorite items from this kit is the Harvest Wheat cutting die! It’s fabulous and it’s going down as one of my favorite dies of the year. So, let’s get into the card crafting . . .

Card 1:

For my first card I had to use the Harvest Wheat die. I cut it out with some saffron cardstock and added a few additional stocks to it using brushed gold, rainforest and desert storm cardstock. The set even comes with a little tie to put on the wheat bouquet. Love it!

Card 2:

I stamped out all of the sunflower images and colored them in with Copic markers for my second card. If you like sunflower stamps, this set called Wild Sunflowers is beautifully illustrated. This flower was the focal piece to my card, and I place it in front of an arch die to pull it out from the busy pattern paper.

Copic Markers:

Sunflower Petals: Y21, Y13, Y17

Flower Center: YR27, E37

Leaves: YG06, YG27

Card 3:

On card three I used my favorite technique: pattern stamping. I stamped out all of the sunflower images into a piece of Stonehenge cardstock. I chose one flower to color in for my focal piece. I used Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. These pencils blend like butter on this Stonehenge Kraft! This ink I used is Fallen Leaves. I love using brown ink for my fall time cards.

Card 4:

I don’t have many layering stencils, but I must say I really enjoyed playing with this one. Card 4 is my favorite of my set. The stencil was so fun and effortless to create and I love the result. It also had a coordinating die. I popped up my stenciled piece with a piece of gold glitter foam. For the sentiment, I found that I could stamp it right over the leaves.

Inks:

Flower Petals: Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Sunbeam & Citrine

Flower Center: MFT Kraft & Memento – Rich Cocoa

Leaves: Pawsitively Saturated Inks – Celery, Limelicious, Pearfection

Card 5:

For card 5 I had to use the Harvest Wheat die again. I simply cut it out with gold glitter foam and glued it on the front of an ink blended panel. I added a twine bow around it this time. Super fast and easy card to create.

Ink: Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink

Bonus Card:

The single wheat stalk die from the Harvest Wheat die set looks like it could be a lavender stalk, so I cut it out using four different colors of purple cardstock. I used another sunflower that I had colored in with Copic markers. The stamp set includes a lot of lovely sentiments for fall.

Chalkboard Cards Technique | SSS February Card Kit 2020 | Window Frames

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all having a fabulous day! I created a few cards with Simon Says Stamp’s February Card Kit! It’s called Window Frames, and I decided to focus on one technique–chalkboard cards! I love creating chalkboard cards because the images really look fabulous on the black card stock, and it involves colored pencils–my favorite art medium.

Image10

Card #1: Balloon Window Frame

On my first card I used my favorite frame from the stamp set! All the balloons are so darling! I planned on heat embossing the images with white embossing powder, but it’s easier to color in the image without the raised embossed lines getting in the way. So, I used Unicorn White pigment ink to stamp the image first.

I decided to color them in with all the rainbow colors. I used three colored pencils on each balloon to give them depth. I used some polychromos colored pencils, and I used many layers so the colors would really pop off of this black card stock. After my coloring was done, I then re-stamped the images with embossing ink, poured over the white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool. In the shaker pouches I used some Moonstone Chunky Glitter form Arteza–I wanted the glitter to have more shine than color, so it wouldn’t compete with the balloons.

Image2

Card #2: Heart Frame Card

I stamped out the heart frame using more Unicorn White pigment ink. I was having trouble coloring in the hearts because I couldn’t see where the hearts stopped and the frame began. To help this situation I drew in some lines around the rectangle. I used a #10 Gelly Roll pen and a ruler to do this. Then I colored in the hearts with red and pink polychromos pencils and a white Prismacolor pencil–the white Prismacolor pencil is better than the polychromos white pencil in my opinion. After all my coloring was done, I again embossed the image with white embossing powder.

Image3

Card #3: Flower Frame Thank You Card

I selectively stamped out the flower frame for this card. I wanted the frame to be on the edges on my A2 sized card. This is easy to do if you have a stamp positioner like the Misti. I stamped out one side, flipped over the paper, and stamped the other side. Again for this card I stamped first using white pigment ink, colored in my images, and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. My very last step was to dot my card with white Nuvo drops–this added a  little lightness to the card.

Card Kits, Colored Pencils, Copic Coloring, Floral Cards, Spellbinders Card Kit

10 Cards, 1 Kit | Spellbinders | Hey Foxy

Hello! Welcome to my blog! I created 10 cards with Spellbinders card kit called Hey Foxy. As always, I had a ball playing with their kit. I enjoy working with them because I never know what my card is going to end up looking like. I always have a plan in my head when I start designing a card, but the contents of these kits are so eclectic that I end up with something I didn’t imagine. They are usually very fast cards to put together too. They don’t involve a lot of coloring, although I usually find a way to use one of my art mediums. Check out my process video below, and I’ve included links to most of the products I used.

2020 Spellbinders Kit Dec THUMB

Card #1: Stamped Pattern Paper Card

I stamped out my own pattern paper for this card using all the pretty stamps from the set included in the kit. I used a beautiful brown-toned gray ink called Stone. I then used some of the ephemera pieces on top of it.

Image1

Card #2: Easy Wreath Birthday Card

This was the fastest of the cards to put together. I used pattern paper and ephemera pieces. I also used a few gold sequins for a touch of shine. (I love the green striped paper!)

Image2

Card #3: Butterflies & Flowers Card

The focal point of this card is the oval in the center of the card. I surrounded it with ephemera pieces and backed it with pattern paper. The font of these stamps is very pretty!

Image3

Card #4: New Home Card

This is one of my favorite cards! For the sunshine I used an old die from my stash and cut it out with the gold metallic paper. The sentiment fit inside it perfectly. I had to use the house pattern paper and the house ephemera pieces together to create a congrats-on-your-new-home card.

Image4

Card #5: Stripes & Florals Card

Again, love the striped paper–it has craft stripes! I really need more of this paper. There is nothing better than flowers and stripes together.

Image5

Card #6: Foxy Polka Dot Card

I intended this to be a masculine card, but I couldn’t help adding the pink flowers and the cute little fox. I used another die from my stash to create the rectangle piece. The die also cuts out the thin frame.

Image6

Card #7: Queen Fox Card

My favorite part of this whole card is the little crown on the fox’s head. So darling! The fox took some work to die cut and put together, but I love how it turned out.

Image7

Card #8: Happy Bear Card

This card kept changing as I was creating it. I tried to use the sticker that said, “happy,” but it was so thin that I ripped it. I used an ephemera piece instead. I just kept adding ephemera pieces to this card until I couldn’t fit anymore on.

Image8

Card #9: Stamped and Colored Pattern Paper Card

Card 9 is another of my favorites. I love the kraft card stock they usually always include in their kits. It has a very unique coloring to it. I stamped my patter paper using the stamps again, but this time I had to color them in. Card card stock demands colored pencils. I used my polychromos pencils to color in all the images.

Image9

Card #10: Dreams & Flowers Card

I had a lot of fun creating this card. I used a piece of the black card stock behind my images, and I think that makes it look so dramatic. I used Copic markers to color in the girl ephemera picture–her hair was so fun to color in! The sentiment is another sticker, and I love how it blends into the background.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Hello my crafty friends! This month’s card kit from Scrapping for Less is all about Valentine’s Day card making! I LOVE creating Valentine’s Day cards, and this kit helped me get a head-start. All the different collections from this kit is fabulous–it’s really like 4 kits in one. Below you’ll see all the ingredients to the Double Dip Sundae kit as well as the Banana Split level kit. I’m crafting with the Banana Split level–I absolutely love the extra little goody bag of products; it’s always amazing and coordinates perfectly with the different collections.

dec.fullcollection

dec.bananasplitdec.oneandtwodec.threeandfourdec.cardstockHere are all six cards I created using this kit!

Image7

Card #1: Woof You Be Mine Card

I love the stamps from this collection! The puppies and sentiments are adorable–great for creating Valentine’s for kids. I colored in my image with Copic markers and used teal blue markers to color in some background around him. To create this card I used one of the sketches selected for this kit. The sketches are fun to play along with–I end up creating cards that I wouldn’t have created on my own.

Image1

Card #2: Love You Furrever Card

I couldn’t get enough of this adorable doggy stamp. I stamped him again with black dye ink and colored him in with Copic markers. I cut out a piece of masking paper using a heart die and used the negative piece over the card panel. I also put a mask over the dog and ink blended around him using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink. I really love the pattern paper from this collection, and I used a piece to mat my panel.

Image2

Card #3: Wood You Be Mine Card

Collection two contains more fabulous stamps and pattern paper. The inspiration for this card was another of the four card sketches and this piece of plaid paper I used as my background. (I’m gonna need more of this pattern paper!) I colored in the log and the bird with Prismacolor pencils, and I tried matching my coloring to the colors in the pattern paper. I used cool grays and blues and pinks, and I love how this card turned out.

Image3

Card #4: Friendship Card

The stamp set from collection three is so unique and beautiful. I adore it! It has such delicate lines to it, and then you have this cute heart where you can stamp your sentiment. I colored in the hands with more Prismacolor pencils, and I stamped the heart with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. I had to mask the heart while I stamped the hands, and visa versa. I loosely followed another card sketch to create this card.

Image5

Card #5: Arrow Hearts Stencil Card

Collection three also came with a beautiful stencil, and I had fun playing with it! I used some White Glitz Glitter Gel which I dyed pink using a spun sugar re-inker. I gently smeared it over the stencil onto a piece of navy blue card stock. I allowed it to dry for an hour. Next, I used the Love die from the extra pack of goodies you get when you subscribe to the Banana Split level card kit. I cut it out twice and glued them together to give my word die a bit of dimension. This was a fun and fast card to put together!

Image4

Card #6: Snail Mail Card

What a darling stamp set collection four includes! I love the little mail box, and I had to use the puppy stamp from collection one–they went so well together! I colored them in with Copic markers. I used the last of the four card sketches to put this card together. I like how this card turned out because it includes a lot of different papers.
