Tiny Ninjas Encouragement Card

Hello and Welcome!  Today’s card is an encouragement card using some adorable tiny ninjas stamps from Mama Elephant.

I wanted to use all the images in this stamp set, but I ended up settling on three of them.  I stamped them with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  It stays wet long enough to add embossing powder.  I used clear embossing powder–it made their ninja costumes shiny and dimensional.  I loved this effect!

I used the Mini Misti to position the ninjas in the center of each of the windows.  There is a lot of surface on these stamps to cover, so I had to re-ink them and stamp them again.

I used my florescent pink Zig marker to color in their karate belts.  I love how the windows in the black card stock put the spotlight on each of the ninjas.  The ribbon coordinated with their pink belts.

Floral Frame Card/Altenew August Challenge

Hi and welcome!  I created another floral card today–I absolutely love creating cards with flowers. This card is for Altenew’s August Challenge.  The Altenew stamp set I used is another one from Simon Says Stamp Masterpiece box.  It’s called Floral Frame.

I stamped the rose image onto a piece of white card stock and pulled out my Prismacolor pencils to color it in.  I used Gamsol to blend the colors together.

I used the vines that came in this set to encompass my sentiment.  I was able to manipulate these images on my stamp press until they formed more of a circle.

The Mini Misti came in handy to stamp my sentiment inside the floral frame.  I had to ink it up three times before it was dark enough for me.

I created my own pattern paper with some gray ink and this diagonal stripe stamp from MFT.

SSS Oh Happy Day Card/Masterpiece Box

Happy Monday! I’ve created a watercolor card using a stamp set from the SSS Masterpiece Box! This stamp set is called “Oh Happy Day.”

I stamped it out using my Mini Misti. This helped me stamp it several times, 6 times to be exact, until I got it dark enough. The heavily textured paper soaked up the ink.

I had to include a picture of this darling mug one of my nieces sent to me. I love it! This will be a permanent fixture on my craft table. I’m going to use it as my water container every time I paint. Thank you, Emmy!

One of my favorite designers, Yoonsun Hur, created this stamp set, and I simply love it. Yoonsun creates a lot of her cards with watercolors, so I thought I’d pull out my little set of watercolors. Check out her blog; she’s fabulous: RejoicingCrafts.com

I’m using a tin box of Prima watercolors, called Tropicals. I’m loving these paints–not only are the colors beautiful and bright, but the box is very portable, so I can take it on the go.

I wet down each flower and then dropped in the color. It’s fun watching the colors feather out. I allowed my panel to dry, and then I went back in with a less watered down pigment to add a darker color to the petals, which added more dimension to the flowers.
