Hi crafty friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I’m excited to show you all the cards I designed with Simon Says Stamp’s March card kit. The largest of the two stamp sets in this kit is called “Amazing,” and that’s exactly what I thought of it. I love geometric shape stamps, and the circles from this set has lots of fun patterns to them.
The small stamp set is called “Wooly Lucky,” and it is St. Patrick’s Day themed. I don’t usually send out happy St. Patrick’s Day cards, but the stamp set was sure fun to play with. I love the llama image in this set.
Card #1: Diagonal Flowers Card
I really love the circle image I used on this first card. It looks like a rose to me, so I used it that way. I stamped two flowers on a piece of white cardstock and die cut the center circle with a faux stitched circle die to make it a little smaller. I popped it up with foam squares between the larger flowers to give the card some dimension. I drew in my own leaves and cut it out on a diagonal. I used a piece of Doll Pink cardstock behind it, and heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder.
Card #2: Rainbows & Dots
This was a fast card to put together. I stamped out all the solid circle images with the Lucky green mini ink cube around my sentiment. I also stamped out a few black circles to match the black sentiment. I added a few green pearls and stars from the Lucky Charms sequin mix–loved this mix of sequins!
Card #3: Rainbows & Unicorns
I knew I had to use some of the Doodlebug stickers to make a birthday card for my daughter. She loves rainbows and unicorns, so I turned this card into a birthday card by adding my own birthday die cut. I love the sticker from this kit–great on card fronts as well as on the insides of the cards. Decorating the insides of your cards makes them extra special in my opinion. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but it does add a lot more fun.
Card #4: Wonky Flowers
I love the look of colored pencils on dark cardstocks! I stamped out these circles stamps with white pigment ink first, and then I colored over the images with polychromos pencils. I then stamped them again–I made sure to keep the stamps on the door of my Mini Misti. I used clear embossing ink this time and poured on some white embossing powder. I also white heat embossed my sentiment. A few white Nuvo Drops across the panel helped brighten it up a little.
Card #5: Wooly Lucky Llama Card
I had to color in this little llama with my medium-of-choice–colored pencils. I used more of the pattern paper and cardstock from this kit behind him. I love how the yellow circle die cut really makes the llama stand out as the focus of this card.
Card #6: Rainbow Llama Card
I thought i’d go all out for this card and color an Irish scene behind the llama including some purple Irish heather. I used my softest shades of Copic markers to color a rainbow behind him. I didn’t want the rainbow taking over the show. I also colored in the llama with soft earth tone Copics. I think this card it my favorite of the lot.
Card #7: Rainbow Circle Die-Cuts
I have a very eclectic assortment of circle dies. Sometime I want to purchase an infinity set of circle dies without stitches or anything–just circles. However, I used what I had to cut out my white heat embossed circle images. I used Distress Oxides to color them in. I didn’t put them on my card in rainbow order, but all of the colors are there. I used foam squares behind my sentiment as well as behind some of the circles.
Card #8: St. Patrick’s Day Shaker Card
I used a tag die from my stash to partially die cut a window in my green leaf cardstock. I made this into a little shaker window and placed another tag over it. I love this little Irish girl sticker and placed her on the tag. No coloring went in to the creation of this card, but I love how it turned out!
Card #9: Sunflower Card
I really love the sentiments from this set. They are encouraging, substantial and just fun! The one I stamped on this card it my favorite. I used two of the circle stamps to create what I hope look like sunflowers and stamped them across this panel. I also added a few small circle stamps to add lightness to the panel. After all my stamping was done, I used a wonky stitched die to cut out the sentiment. I matted it with more orange peel cardstock and popped up the panel with foam tape.
Card #10: Purple Fireworks Card
This was another quick and fun card to put together. I wanted the circle stamps to look like fireworks and confetti this time. I used more of the blue violet cardstock from the kit as well as a piece of the purple rainbow pattern paper. I stamped out my circles on a piece of white cardstock and matted it with blue violet cardstock. I chomped the corners to soften them. To make the sentiment really pop and not get lost on this busy panel, I heat embossed it with more white embossing powder on blue violet cardstock and then cut it out with a banner die.
