5 Cards, 1 Kit | MFT Flowers in Bloom | Tips for Photographing Cards

Hello and welcome!! I love it when card kits include art mediums. MFT’s June kit included Color Burst watercolors. This is a medium I never tried before. I had heard of it, but it didn’t interest me. It took a card kit to get me to try them. I had a lot of fun working with these powdered watercolors, and it was mesmerizing to watch them burst into life when mixed with water. The speckled effects you can get with these are gorgeous and unique.

The kit also included some watercolor paper by Ken Oliver. I loved the bright whiteness of it. It reminded me of the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Card Stock. It was fun to try, but I’ll stick with my Arches watercolor paper which can take on a lot more water than the Ken Oliver paper.

I used many different techniques to create these these cards, but my favorite is the metallic watercolors on black card stock card. This floral stamp set lent itself perfectly for this technique. I love a large floral stamp sets like this one.

At the end of my video, I included a new product I use to take pictures of my cards on. I also show you how I take pictures of my cards for my blog, Instagram and Facebook.

Thank you for stopping by! Links to the products I used are listed below. The MFT June kit is sold out; however, I have links to all the products from the kit which you can buy separately.

5 Cards, 1 Kit | Spellbinders June Kit 2019 | Super Chill

This is the fist time I’ve ever created cards with a Spellbinders card kit. I saw it advertised, and I was amazed with how much product it included. The one thing that really sold me on it was the dies for the heart shaped glasses. I felt like I really needed that in my stash. Lol! I loved this kit! I only created 5 cards with it for this video, but I could have created tons more. I’m going to have some of my crafty friends over soon to help me use up the rest of the goodies from this kit.

Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month

Any Occasion Card, Watercolors

Watercolor Card | Hero Arts | Knitting 2019

Happy Worldwide Watercolor month!! To celebrate, I’ve created a card using watercolors and some sweet stamp images from Hero Arts. I love watercoloring; it so mesmerizing to watch the pigments moves around with the water. I’ve recently picked up a few tubes of Daniel Smith watercolors, and I can easily say they do live up to the hype. The colors are gorgeous, and creamy, and dry beautifully.

Two more of my favorite things is cats and knitting; so, this card was a blast to create! I had trouble choosing a color palette for this card. I saw a picture of a beautiful black and pink bird and was immediately inspired–inspiration can come from anywhere.

Image2

I stamped the images onto a piece of Arches Cold Press watercolor paper, and I used VersaFine Onyx black ink, which is a waterproof ink. I painted my images using lots of layers of paint. Once I was done, I let them dry, and I fussy cut them out. However, there are coordinating dies. (See link below.) The image of the girl is so cute how they have her posed. You could sit her anywhere, and in this case, I put her sitting on the edge of the wood frame die cut with her cat and basket of yarn.
