Happy Worldwide Watercolor month!! To celebrate, I’ve created a card using watercolors and some sweet stamp images from Hero Arts. I love watercoloring; it so mesmerizing to watch the pigments moves around with the water. I’ve recently picked up a few tubes of Daniel Smith watercolors, and I can easily say they do live up to the hype. The colors are gorgeous, and creamy, and dry beautifully.
Two more of my favorite things is cats and knitting; so, this card was a blast to create! I had trouble choosing a color palette for this card. I saw a picture of a beautiful black and pink bird and was immediately inspired–inspiration can come from anywhere.
I stamped the images onto a piece of Arches Cold Press watercolor paper, and I used VersaFine Onyx black ink, which is a waterproof ink. I painted my images using lots of layers of paint. Once I was done, I let them dry, and I fussy cut them out. However, there are coordinating dies. (See link below.) The image of the girl is so cute how they have her posed. You could sit her anywhere, and in this case, I put her sitting on the edge of the wood frame die cut with her cat and basket of yarn.
Here is my process video! You can watch it here or over on my YouTube Channel in HD.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you have a wonderful day!!
