I love the new color Pantone chose for their color of the year! It’s called Very Peri, and it’s a beautiful periwinkle color.

The card I’m creating in my video today focuses on this gorgeous color. I’m also using some new etched dies from Spellbinders called “Be Bold Blooms” and “Smooth Lines Mix & Match Sentiments.” This die set includes some periwinkle flowers, so of course I had to use this for my Very Peri color showcase card.
When I have a set of floral dies, I like to cut them all out before I start putting my card together. I try to die cut more than I need so that I can create more than just 1 card.
Once I had all my dies cuts ready to go, I added some details with some Prismacolor pencils. I colored over the etched details to add a strong pop of color. I chose colors that were darker than my colored cardstocks. All the cardstock I used comes from the Spellbinders Cardstock Essentials collection. The Lilace Blossom cardstock was perfect for these periwinkles. I used a lot of colors, and it turned into such a bright and happy card.
I die cut the hello sentiment in a piece of Royal Amethyst cardstock and used the negative piece. I’ll save the actual sentiment die cut for another card. I glued it onto a piece of white cardstock and attached it at the bottom of the card.
I added a few gems for a touch of sparkle. Spellbinders also has some new Color Essential Gems in their shop, and I used the ones called Prism! Such gorgeous colors!
