Welcome back for day 2 of the Under the Sea inspiration hop! Today I created a mermaid card using a beautiful block stamp that I picked up at my local craft store. I stamped her out onto a piece of Gina K Designs Artist’s Choice Cardstock which is great for colored pencils. I pulled out some Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils to color in my mermaid. I love coloring mermaids, and for her tail I followed the inspiration on the block stamp and colored it in with blues and purples.
I then fussy cut her out, added some foam tape behind her and place her on a velum heart.
The sentiment comes from the LDRS stamp set called Mermaid Treasure. I stamped this using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then I pour on some Gina K Designs Fine Detail Clear Embossing powder. When you melt the powder, it gives a nice shine to the sentiment.
The stencil I used is called Perfect Pool Water from MFT. I used 3 different colors of Distress ink onto this panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio. The white lines left behind seemed to stark white, so I shifted the stencil and added more color.
