Hello my friends, Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far! I’m having fun creating summer cards, and today I’m using a stamp sets from the Not 2 Shabby Shop’s June release. This set is called, “Be Mermazing,” and it’s filled with the cutest underwater creatures as well as the prettiest mermaid.

I created two wreath cards with this set, and I used two different watercolor mediums to color them in as well as the backgrounds.

Card 1: Underwater Wreath Card

For my first card I stamped out all the images with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and then heat embossed them with Clear embossing powder. The paper I used was Stonehenge hotpress watercolor paper. To color in these images I used some liquid watercolors–Dr. Ph Martin watercolor. This was my first time using these watercolors, and I really enjoyed using them–they are vibrant and beautiful.

The raised lines of my heat embossed images made watercoloring them fast and easy. I had so much paint left over in my butcher’s tray that I decided to create some backgrounds with it. I dipped a watercolor paper panel into the blue and green and purple paint, and it turned out with a smooth, marbled look. I was able to use this panel for both cards.

Card 2: Mermaid & Pearls Shaker Card

On card #2 I stamped out the pearls and shells image out several times. I wanted to create a shaker window with this single image. Again I heat embossed the images, but this time I colored them in with some Zig Real Brush Pens.

I fussy cut out all the images and glued the pearls and shells together to create a circle. I then glued on a panel of acetate and popped it up with a double layer of foam adhesive. I used a lot of clear confetti pieces inside the shaker. I also popped up the mermaid on the outside to match the height of the shaker window.

Colorblock Circles & Stripes Slimline Card | Spellbinders Large Die of the Month | June 2021

Hello fellow card crafters. Happy Friday! Today I get to show you the Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders. If you like the paper strips technique, then you are going to love this die set. The largest die cuts out 3 different sizes of paper strips that will fit on an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch slimline card; however, you can cut the strips down to any card size you want, of course. The set also includes 3 different sentiments and some fabulous decorative dies.

To create this card I cut out a lot of different colors of the new Spellbinders Color Essentials cardstocks. I cut out a lot so I have strips to make additional cards. I put some Stick-It adhesive on a 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 panel of white cardstock and started adding my strips. This adhesive is great because it allows you to reposition your cardstock if you need to. Once you have the strips where you want them, you can press them into the panel with a bonefolder, and they will stick tight.

I used the Happy Birthday sentiment die and cut it out with Poppy Field cardstock and backed it with Raindrop cardstock. I used the decorative dies to create circles around the sentiment and a couple of rainbows. To finish off the card I added some crystal gems.

Color Block Slices Cards | Spellbinders Small Die of the Month | June 2021

Hello my friends! Welcome back. Today I’m showing you the Small Die of the Month for June. This die set is my favorite so far! It’s so creative, and you can do so many things with it. It is fabulous!! I created three cards with this set, and I will be creating many, many more.

For my first card I created a desert scene. I love the little cactus die in this set! You may not know this, but I am a desert girl living in the Midwest world. I love the desert. The largest die from this set cuts out the desert scene, and I used it to cut out several different colors of cardstock. To make each layer pop, I inked up the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I used more colors of Distress Oxide Inks to create my sunset. I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet, Crackling Campfire and Wild Honey.

I used the Clear Stamp of the Month for June for my sentiment. The stamp set coordinates beautifully with this die set. I glued everything down flat except the sentiment which I popped up with foam tape. I used a few of Spellbinders’ gold gems on this card.

For card two I used the triangle die to create the rays of the sun. I cut it out with Beeswax and Persimmon cardstock. I cut out five of each color, and then I used the leftovers scraps to cut out five more rays. I used more Spellbinders cardstock to cut out the mountains and the river–I have the exact colors I used for each card listed in the supply links below. Again, I used the Clear Stamp of the Month for the sentiment.

I had so much fun creating my third card. I used the triangle die and cut out several cardstocks. I glued them down flat with liquid adhesive and popped up the sentiment with foam tape. I love the look of this card!

Circle of Sunshine Card | Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month | June 2021

Hello crafty friends! Spellbinders’ Clear Stamp of the Month for June is called Circles of Sunshine, and the set is full of sunshine themed sentiments and images. This set coordinates with the Small Die of the Month and Large Die of the Month sets for June. To create this card I wanted to just use the stamp set.

This set is packed with sentiments and images that you can pair with your circle dies. That’s what I chose to do with this card. However, you get some beautiful images and sentiments strips.

I stamped many of the images using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. This added some additional shine to the card. I cut out all the images with circle dies and then used some Distress Oxide Inks to add a little more color to the die cuts.

Some of the die cut circles I popped up with foam tape and some I glue flat onto a piece of black cardstock. I added a few gems around the card and matted it with gold metallic cardstock. I will be using this fabulous die set with the Small Die of the Month and the Large Die of the Month in videos coming out very soon. This is a great set to add to your stash!

10 Cards, 1 Kit | Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month | Wild Hello | June 2021

Hello! Welcome! It’s Club Kit release day at Spellbinders! I’m creating 10 cards today using June’s kit called, “Wild Hello.” This kit is great if you need more birthday cards; however, there are dies, stamps, ephemera and journaling cards that cover all kinds of occasions. One of my favorite things from this kit is the die set. They are sentiment strip dies. It’s a set that I will store in my little bin next to my desk so I can reach for them often.

I was a bit overwhelmed by all the cuteness in this kit, so I decided to begin with the pattern paper as my inspiration. I pulled out a piece and used ephemera, journaling cards, chipboard stickers to coordinate with it. You can create a lot more than just 10 cards with this kit; I always have lots of supplies left over.

I actually created 11 cards with this kit, and I would have kept on creating cards if I had the time. However, I will be going back and creating more cards with this fabulous kit.

3 Cards using Hemstitch Slimline Dies | Spellbinders

Welcome crafty friends! I was so excited when I learned that Spellbinders was releasing Hemstitch Dies for slimline cards! I have a set of rectangle Hemstitch Dies, and I use them a lot. I created three cards with these dies, as well as other products from Spellbinders. I have all of the links to these products listed below.

Card One

I used the largest of the Hemstitch dies on my first card and cut it out with white cardstock. The stamp I used is called Field of Flowers, and I stamped it twice along this panel. I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and pour over clear embossing powder. After I melted it, I blended on two of the new Distress Oxide Ink called Salvaged Patina and Kitsch Flamingo. I used Beeswax cardstock for the card base. I love how soft and pretty this birthday card turned out!

Card Two

My next card is another floral card. I used the largest and the medium Hemstitch dies for this one. I cut them out using Persimmon and Saffron cardstocks. The stamp set is called Block Prints. I inked this stamp up with VersaMark ink and used some colored embossing powder over them. The black panel comes from the smallest Hemstitch die, but I didn’t use the hemstitching on it. I cut out the sunflowers and popped them up with foam adhesive. This would be a perfect card to send out in the fall.

Card Three

This card is my favorite! I used the medium Hemstitch Die and the Small one. The floral dies comes from a darling set called Simply Perfect Layered Bloom Dies. I cut out a bunch of these using the gorgeous new cardstocks from Spellbinders and adhered them around the sentiment.

Glimmer Hot Foil Cards | You are My Home Sweet Cardlets II | Spellbinders

Welcome to my blog! Today I’m creating with Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. This is the first time I’ve used it, and after playing with it, I wish I had tried this a long time ago. I love the beautiful results! The Hot Foil set that made me want to try his system is the Sweet Cardlets II–You are My Home. There are many sets in this release, but I really love all those darling little houses!!

Card One

On my first card I foiled on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I wanted to color in the neighborhood scene with my Zig pens, and this is the perfect paper for watercolor pens. I allowed the scene to air dry, and then I cut it out with my paper trimmer. I popped it up off the black foiled frame with some foam pieces. The sentiments I also foiled with black foil. This is an A2 size card.

Card Two

On card two I used the separate little house foil plate and die. I foiled on colored cardstock this time. I used gold foil and it foiled beautifully each time. I adhered the houses in rainbow order up the card using foam adhesive behind the red house. I created a mini slimline card measuring 3 x 6.

Colored Pencils, Not 2 Shabby

No-Line Coloring with Colored Pencils | Not 2 Shabby Shop

Hello, crafty friends. It’s time for some no-line coloring. I haven’t done this for a while, but it is a really fun technique. I’m using the adorable hamster image from the set call Yum Yum from the Not 2 Shabby Shop. This stamp set was part of the May Card Box, which sold out super quick. However, you can purchase this as a digi stamp.

I stamped out the hamster using a very pale colored ink called Antique Linen Distress Oxide. If you are printing this image from the digi stamp, you will need to scale back the density so your print is very light. You could also print it off and then trace it onto your card panel with a pencil.

I used a piece of colored cardstock called Barely Peach. Colored cardstock is great for this technique because is give you a base color to begin coloring on. I used my lightest colors first and slowly built up the color and the texture on his fur.

I stamped and colored in some flowers from the Time to Relax stamp set. I then drew in a hill and stems around the hamster. I wanted to keep the background really simple. I love how this card turned out!

Pattern Stamping Technique | Scrappy Tails Crafts | Popping Poppies

Hello crafty friends! There are a lot of gorgeous pattern papers on the market, and I’m sure we have plenty of it in our own personal stashes, but I still adore creating my own pattern paper cards. I’m using a beautiful stamp set from the Scrappy Tails Crafts Shop called Popping Poppies to create a set of stamped background cards.

I’m also using a fast and easy coloring technique with Distress Oxide Inks.

For all three cards I chose a stamp from the set and stamped it several times across a piece of colored cardstock. I used VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Once I was done stamping, I poured some clear embossing powder over the images and melted them with a heat tool. Heat embossing your images ensure that when you add the Distress Inks over the flowers, you won’t obscure or smear your lines.

I love the sentiments in this set! To really make them pop off the fronts of my cards, I stamped them on Onyx black cardstock and used white embossing powder.

Card 1

On the first card I used a piece of Persimmon cardstock from Spellbinders. I used Crackling Campfire and Crushed Olive Distress oxide inks and some make up brushes to add some color to the flowers.

Card 2

The cardstock I used on my second card is called Saffron. I used Kitsch Flamingo and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks.

Card 3

For card three I used Poppy Field cardstock and Unicorn White Pigment Ink.

Stitched Cards | Spellbinders Large Die Club – May

Have you ever tried embroidering on paper? It is a lot of fun and super easy to do–especially with the Spellbinders Large Die Club for May. This die set is called Stitched Card Front, Border and Flower. I also used the Clear Stamp of the Month for my sentiment on this card. I love how big and bold it is.

I used the flower strip dies to cut a diagonal across a white panel. I chose three hues of pink and started embroidering. I taped the ends of the strings down with double sided adhesive. Before I started embroidering the large flower die cut, I glued two of them together to give it some stability.

I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to use Dahlia pink or Cosmic Sky cardstock, so I created two cards. I heat embossed the sentiment with detail white embossing powder. I popped up the white embroidered panel with foam tape. The large flowers and leaves I added to the white panel with micro dots.

I still can’t decide which card I like better. I will definitely be creating more cards with this clever set.
