Hello crafty friends! There are a lot of gorgeous pattern papers on the market, and I’m sure we have plenty of it in our own personal stashes, but I still adore creating my own pattern paper cards. I’m using a beautiful stamp set from the Scrappy Tails Crafts Shop called Popping Poppies to create a set of stamped background cards.
I’m also using a fast and easy coloring technique with Distress Oxide Inks.
For all three cards I chose a stamp from the set and stamped it several times across a piece of colored cardstock. I used VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Once I was done stamping, I poured some clear embossing powder over the images and melted them with a heat tool. Heat embossing your images ensure that when you add the Distress Inks over the flowers, you won’t obscure or smear your lines.
I love the sentiments in this set! To really make them pop off the fronts of my cards, I stamped them on Onyx black cardstock and used white embossing powder.
Card 1
On the first card I used a piece of Persimmon cardstock from Spellbinders. I used Crackling Campfire and Crushed Olive Distress oxide inks and some make up brushes to add some color to the flowers.
Card 2
The cardstock I used on my second card is called Saffron. I used Kitsch Flamingo and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks.
Card 3
For card three I used Poppy Field cardstock and Unicorn White Pigment Ink.
