I’m back with another card design for the Not 2 Shabby Shop. Today I’m using their new stamp set called Bouquet of Happiness. The stamp features some gorgeous begonias and some really cute sentiments. I decided to pull out some watercolors to color in these flowers. My color theme comes from Pantone’s two new colors for 2021: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating. Basically, the colors are gray and yellow.

I used a piece of Arches hot press watercolor paper to emboss my images on using some VersaMark Ink and gold embossing powder. Then I pulled out my little set of Daniel Smith watercolors. I painted a flat wash of yellow, then started adding layers and shadows. After my work was dry, I used some colored pencils to add even more shading.
Next, I fussy cut my images leaving a white border around them. I used Trinity Stamps’ slimline die called Hip to Be Square to cut out a piece of yellow and gray cardstock. I then layered these two die cuts and adhered them to a piece of gray cardstock.
Finally, I attached my flowers to the card front with foam adhesive. I added a sentiment and some bubble beads to add some bling.
