Hello! I wanted to show you the mini cards I created for my kids for Valentine’s Day. The technique I used to make these hearts is really fun! I call it paper strips piecing.
I chose some pretty cardstocks that mimic the colors of the Valentine heart candies. However, this would be a great technique to use up the scrap paper we all have in our stash.
I used a paper trimmer to cut the cardstocks into strips. I didn’t measure them out; I just cut. I wanted the strips to be various widths. I then used a sheet of Stick It adhesive on a thin sheet of typing paper and started putting down the paper strips onto it. This part was very fun and relaxing to do.
I used a bone folder to press the paper strips into the adhesive and then die cut some hearts. I love how these turned out!!
The lacy heart die cut I adhered to a bright pink 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card base and added a sentiment banner over the heart.
For the second card, I cut two more smaller hearts out of the largest heart and adhered them to a gate-fold card base.
Here is the video tutorial for these cards! You can watch them here or on my YouTube Channel in HD. Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!!
