Happy Mother’s Day! I think cards for our moms are the most important cards we send out. I wanted to make my mom a card with flowers on it–perfect for any mom, but my mom is a major flower enthusiast. Lol! When I came across this stamp from Penny Black, it immediately reminded me of her. She loves to bring fresh cut flowers from her garden into her house. Her garden in chock full of a huge variety of flowers. When you see her heading toward the door with her scissors, you know the house will soon be graced with the beauty and scent of flowers.
Before I got started on the actual coloring of this card, I wanted to try out this new stencil from MFT. I love this stencil! Creating clouds for the background of the card was so fast and effortless. It added a lot of interest, and it was just fun to use.
I lived a long time with only owning about 50 Prismacolor pencils, so when my husband bought me the complete 150 set for our anniversary last year, I was in colored pencil heaven!! Lol! However, more choices of colors means more time spent in figuring out which ones I want to use. Oh well, I still prefer owning them all.
I used some word dies to create my sentiment. I was able to get a slight hombre effect using two Copic markers–leaving them in the card stock helped me to color them without them shifting. I glued them onto my card front with some Multi Medium Matte glue.
I finished up the card by adding some Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen over the tulips. It’s difficult to keep myself from brushing this glitter over everything. Lol! (Love this pen.)
Here’s my video for this card. Thanks for visiting! You can watch it here or in HD on my YouTube channel.
