Hello and welcome to my blog! Today’s card involves Copic markers, Distress ink and one dang cute stamp set from My Favorite Things called Purr-fect Friends. The star of this card has to be the cat with all the cute flowers drawn on her. This set has the best of both worlds–flowers and critters!
I colored in the cat’s fur with cool gray markers, so that it wouldn’t compete with the bold colors I used on the flowers. I wanted them to be bright and showy.
I wanted the bird to be kissing the cat, so I stamped the bird at the very edge of the cage with her beak sticking out through the bars. I had to place my die cut over the image very carefully, so I wouldn’t cut off her beak. I skewed the die a little to the left of the image. I worked out really well because these dies leave a white boarder around the images, and this allowed me just enough space for her beak.
I used some Bristol Smooth paper for the card base because I wanted to blend some Distress Ink onto the paper. Distress Ink blends onto this paper a lot easier than regular card stock.
To get the frame to match the yellow on the cat, I used the chisel side of the yellow Copic marker to color the frame.
Below is the video for this card. You can watch it here or on my YouTube Channel.
I hope you enjoy it! Have a fabulous day and thanks for visiting!
